Part tennis, part badminton, and part ping-pong, pickleball is approachable, social, and great exercise for all ages. From kids to seniors, it's easy to learn and doesn’t require a ton of equipment—making it a fantastic addition to Yorkton’s recreation scene.

Corey Werner would be the first to admit his tennis game may be weak but he does find it fun to get out and try get better at his game. Pickleball sounds like the perfect way to better his skills with a ball and racket.

Looking ahead, the club plans to host its first outdoor tournament—“Summer Smash”—in 2026, using these new courts along with dual-purpose courts at Knights of Columbus Park. Youth programming is also in the works, aiming to build the next generation of pickleball players. SportsCage.com

Corey Werner's three Kids this summer were able to take part in a Pickleball summer camp where they learned the rules of the game. They all enjoyed their experience and said they are ready to teach their dad and are ready to kick his butt on the court.
